We Pray ......
We Pray ......
... for the victims of the hurricanes in the Southeastern United States who continue to suffer while rebuilding their lives. May their grief and life's turmoil be soothed by the hand of the Lord.
... for those who serve our country. May their efforts be strengthened by His blessings.
... for those who suffer with life-threatening illnesses. May the Lord bring them healing.
... for those who travel. May their journeys be safe.
... for those who suffer with grief and dispare. May they find peace and resolution.
... for those who have healed from illness. May they see His hand in their recovery.
... for all who have been blessed with good fortune. May they give thanks and praise in His name.
This September 11, marks the fifth anniversary of the terrorist attack on our east coast. Each day that has passed of the last five years lessens our feelings of anger, shock, fear and deeply wounded pride. We here are so fortunate to be in the care of One with an un-erring plan for our lives, no matter what others have planned. Our duty is only to praise, obey and forgive.
Prayer of Peace
Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Saint Francis of Assisi
(1181-1226)
Let’s remember too that August 29th marks one year since Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast and the lives of so many people who live there. Many are still unable to return to their homes or are forced to live in ruins. Our continued prayers for those affected and the many who helped and persist in helping with the recovery process. We here at PCBB continue to send support to the Long Beach Presbyterian Church in Mississippi.
